CABIN CLASSIFICATION

The basis for the star classification is according to the technical facilities provided, for example square metreage of the cabin, sleeping facilities, availability of drinking water, lavatories and bathing facilities.

Cabin surroundings and interior

The cabin surroundings do not affect the classification, nor do the specific furnishings and decor. Each classification always indicates the minimum requirements for that classification.

Combined kitchen and living room. Minimum square metreage 12 m², usually more. Beds may be situated in the living area. Drinking water is carried from a well, or from the owner, household water from the lake. Sauna which is also used as a bathing facility. Outdoor toilet. Oil or gas lamps are used for lighting. Some may have electric lights. Gas or wood burning stove. Wood or gas heater. Food supplies are stored in a fruit cellar. Rowboat.

Combined kitchen and living room. Minimum square metreage 12 m², usually more. Bed-recess, some of the beds may be situated in the living area. Drinking water is from a well or from the owner, household water from the lake. Drainage system. Sauna which is also used as a bathing facility. Outdoor toilet. Gas lamps, usually electric lights. Wood, oil or electric heater. Wood burning or gas/electric stove. Gas or electric refrigerator. Rowboat.

Hot and cold running water (drinking water might be from owner). Private sauna which is usually also used as a bathing facility. Some cabins may have a shower. Outdoor toilet. Electric lighting, stove, refrigerator and heating. Some cabins may have a gas stove and refrigerator. Fireplace. Rowboat.

Hot and cold running water (drinking water might be from owner). Shower, indoor toilet. Private sauna with separate bathing room or dressing room. Electric lighting, stove, refrigerator and heating. Fireplace. Rowboat.

Hot and cold running water, shower, wc. Dishwasher and washing machine, microwave oven. Private sauna with separate bathing room or dressing room. Electric lighting, stove, refrigerator/freezer and heating. Fireplace. Rowboat.
